Description: The Sex Hormone binding Globulin test is used to evaluate the level of male hormones in men and women, also known as androgens. SHBG binds to estrogen; dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and testosterone and carries these hormones throughout your blood. Hormones that are bound are non-bioavailable and cannot be utilized by the body.

A significant deviation from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.
